Can Saniderm Be Used on Touchups?

If you’re like most people, once you’ve healed a tattoo with Saniderm it’s hard to go back to traditional healing. I mean, who wants to go back to the gooey, sticky, risky healing associated with greasy creams and ointments? But, as you’re scheduling your routine touchup session—you start thinking… Can Saniderm be used on touchups?

When it comes to healing your tattoo, you know that Saniderm is prevented from sticking to your fresh tattoo due to the plasma in the first stage and peeling, outer layer of skin in the second stage. However, when you get a touchup, not every part of the piece is likely to be tattooed again. Does this mean that you can’t wear that life-saving piece of Saniderm?

The answer to this question is yes – you can use Saniderm on a touchup.

If your tattoo is still relatively fresh, we suggest putting a thin layer of all-natural aftercare lotion (we prefer Sanibalm) over the piece to prevent any unwanted sticking. This is only really necessary if the original tattoo session was within the last two months. If the touchup is being done more than two months after the tattoo was originally applied—don’t worry. The tattoo is completely healed. You can apply the Saniderm as you normally would. There is no worry about disturbing any settling ink at this point in time.

Long story short. Can Saniderm be used on touchups? Yes, absolutely!
