Saniderm is a polyurethane acrylic adhesive medical bandage. Designed with tattoos in mind, our tattoo bandages are breathable and flexible, yet durable enough to protect your tattoos from outside irritants. The tattoo bandage is notably permeable enough for oxygen and water vapor to pass through it. This is important, as it allows the wounded area to maintain optimal levels of breathability. Additionally, our tattoo bandage protects against dirt and germs, offering protection from friction and other irritants. Therefore, using our bandage will dramatically reduce the chances of your tattoo contracting an infection.
Saniderm also plays an important role in tattoo aftercare by sealing in the fluids that your body secretes during the healing process, further promoting regeneration of skin cells.
Where did Saniderm come from?
The medical community markedly uses products similar to Saniderm for aiding in the healing of cuts, burns, and road rash. This type of product, it turns out, is also very effective for tattoo aftercare!
From that, we created a product specifically for healing tattoos, that comes in sizes that are more suitable to the tattoo industry — and at less than half the price of the hospital brands!
Is Saniderm Good for Tattoos?
Because Saniderm is breathable and waterproof, unlike old-school tattoo wraps (e.g., Saran Wrap), it removes many of the typical drawbacks associated with tattoo aftercare.
One of the biggest benefits of this product is how it reduces the risk of contaminants. Remember, a new tattoo is a fresh wound that needs to be protected as it heals. Saniderm keeps the tattoo clean, prevents clothing and other irritants from rubbing or aggravating the skin, and allows the body to better maintain moisture so it can heal.
What’s more, because you can leave Saniderm on for longer (between 3 and 24 hours for the first bandage and then 3 to 6 full days for the second bandage), you can avoid having to wash and protect your tattoo as often. This allows for smoother, safer, more convenient aftercare.
